The COVID-19 pandemic significantly widened existing gaps in academic performance among Indian school children, particularly affecting those from marginalized and underserved communities. As a result, learning disruptions, limited digital access, and socio-economic challenges intensified educational inequalities across the country. In response to this growing crisis, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), in collaboration with YuWaah (Generation Unlimited India), partnered with the World Economic Forum to launch the Education 4.0 India initiative.  At its core, the Education 4.0 India initiative seeks to leverage Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies, such as digital learning platforms, artificial intelligence, and innovative pedagogical tools, to transform the education ecosystem in India. Moreover, the initiative focuses on equipping young learners with future-ready skills, including critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, and problem-solving, which are essential in an increasingly technology-driven world.  Furthermore, this report systematically tracks the development, implementation, and outcomes of the Education 4.0 India initiative. Specifically, it examines how technology-enabled solutions are being used to improve learning outcomes, enhance teacher capacity, and expand equitable access to quality education. In addition, the report highlights how public-private partnerships and multi-stakeholder collaboration play a crucial role in scaling innovative educational models across diverse regions of India.  Most importantly, the initiative aims to bridge educational disparities by ensuring that children from vulnerable backgrounds are not left behind in the digital transformation of education. Consequently, Education 4.0 India represents a strategic step toward building a more inclusive, resilient, and future-oriented education system, aligning with India’s long-term development goals and global education priorities.  Vision of Education 4.0  The goal of the Education 4.0 India programme is to use Fourth Industrial Revolution technology to enhance education and reduce inequality in India and around the world.
