Student-Faculty Ratio (SFR) 

S:F ratio = N/F;  

N=No. of students= 3x where x is (approved intake + 20% lateral entry intake + separate division, if any) 

F = No. of faculty = (a + b – c) for every assessment year. Were,  

a= the total number of full-time regular faculty serving. 

b= the total number of full-time equivalent regular faculty serving this program from other programs. 

c: Total number of full time equivalent regular faculty of this program serving other programs. 

(the above data will be provided considering all the UG and PG programs of the department).

Faculty Cadre Proportion 

The reference Faculty cadre proportion is 1(F1):2(F2):6(F3) 

Cadre Proportion Marks= [(AF1/RF1) + (AF2/RF2 x 0.6) + (AF3/RF3 x 0.4) x 12.5] 

• If, AF1=AF2=0 then zero marks.   

• Maximum marks to be limited if it exceeds 25 Faculty Qualification 

3. Faculty Qualification 

FQ =2.5 x [(10X +6Y)/F)] where, 

x is no. of regular faculty with Ph.D.,  

Y is no. of regular faculty with MTech.,  

F is no. of regular faculty required to comply with 1:15 faculty student ratio.

Innovations by the Faculty in teaching and learning shall be summarized as per the contributions to teaching and learning that contribute to the improvement of student learning. These activities may include innovations not limited to the use of instruction delivery, instructional methods, assessment, evaluation and inclusive classrooms that lead to effective, efficient and engaging instruction. 

5. Research and Development 

Research can be segregated in two parts Academic Research and Sponsored research. 

Academic research includes research paper publications, Ph.D. guidance, and faculty receiving Ph.D. during the assessment period. Mentions the number of quality publications in journals, citations, books, and Ph.D. awarded during the assessment period while working in the institute.  

Sponsored Research includes funded research from outside, providing a list of funding agencies, project titles, amounts and duration. 

Under Development activities, provide details about the product development, research laboratories, instructional materials, working charts etc.

• A minimum of 50 hours per year of interaction with adjunct faculty from industry, retained professors is required.
