Faculty Information and Contributions under NBA Accreditation

One of the criteria of the self assessment report is Faculty Information and Contributions

Faculty Information and Contributions

Role of Faculty-

The role of the faculty is to enhance learner professional skills, innovate interesting learning technology, induce active participation of learners, involve learners in real time projects and ensure overall development of learners.

Outcomes that are expected from the faculty-

  • Educational enhancement program
  • Academic research
  • Development activities

Key Indicators under Faculty Information and Contributions-

  1. Student-Faculty Ratio (SFR)

S:F ratio = N/F;

N=No. of students= 3x where x is (approved intake + 20% lateral entry intake + separate division, if any)

F = No. of faculty = (a + b – c) for every assessment year. Where,

a= the total number of full-time regular faculty serving.

b= the total number of full-time equivalent regular faculty serving this program from other programs.

c: Total number of full time equivalent regular faculty of this program serving other programs.

( the above data will be provided considering all the UG and PG programs of the department)

  1. Faculty Cadre Proportion

The reference Faculty cadre proportion is 1(F1):2(F2):6(F3)

Cadre Proportion Marks= [(AF1/RF1) + (AF2/RF2 x 0.6) + (AF3/RF3 x 0.4) x 12.5]

  • If, AF1=AF2=0 then zero marks.
  • Maximum marks to be limited if it exceeds 25 Faculty Qualification
  1. Faculty Qualification

FQ =2.5 x [(10X +6Y)/F)] where,

x is no. of regular faculty with Ph.D.,

Y is no. of regular faculty with M.Tech.,

F is no. of regular faculty required to comply with 1:15 faculty student ratio.

  1. Innovations by the Faculty in Teaching and Learning Faculty as participants in Faculty development/training activities/STTPs

Innovations by the Faculty in teaching and learning shall be summarised as per the contributions to teaching and learning that contribute to the improvement of student learning.
