- Infrastructure and Learning Resources: This category examines the adequacy and quality of physical infrastructure, such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, and IT facilities, as well as the availability of learning resources to support academic programs.
- Student Support and Progression: This category focuses on the institution’s initiatives to provide support services to students, such as counselling, mentoring, career guidance, and opportunities for co-curricular and extracurricular activities. It also evaluates the institution’s efforts in facilitating student progression and ensuring their overall well-being.
- Governance, Leadership and Management: This category assesses the effectiveness of the institution’s governance structures, including leadership, decision-making processes, financial management, and administrative policies and practices.
- Institutional Values and Best Practices: This category examines the institution’s commitment to ethical values, social responsibility, inclusivity, and sustainable practices. It also evaluates the adoption and implementation of best practices in various areas of institutional functioning.
Each category is further divided into a set of sub-criteria, which are used to evaluate individual institutions. Institutions are rated on a scale of A to C, with A being the highest rating. Institutions that achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.51 or above are considered to be accredited, while those with a score of less than 1.5 are not accredited.
